Life Links have been partaking in Diwali Events throughout Leicester over the celebration period.
Over 35,000 people flocked to the streets of Leicester to celebrate the Diwali Festival of Light, one of the largest celebrations of the Hindu festival outside of India. As an integral part of the local community, Leicestershire Life Links joined in the celebrations, attending several of the fantastic events on offer throughout the city.
On Sunday 20th October, several members of the Life Links team were present at the Diwali fair hosted at the Peepul Centre. We enjoyed speaking to members of the public about the services which we offer throughout the city, encouraging people within the community to expand the mental health conversation. The fair was a gathering of a variety of Diwali themed fashion, dance and food as well community services, a great example of the best that Leicester can offer.
Life Links also attended the incredible Diwali Day celebrations on Sunday 27th October. Despite freezing weather, team members met with the public enjoying the celebrations amongst a wealth of food, fireworks and live entertainment. It certainly has been a highlight within the busy calendars of the LifeLinks team.
