Life Links attend the big health connect event

Life Links attended The Big Health Connect Event on 22 October. The event was a great chance for people from the Afro Caribbean community to come together and learn more about the services available to them in their local area. The event was held at Moat Community College which is situated in the heart of Highfields, home to a high number of people from the BME community.

For us here at Life Links, the event was a brilliant opportunity to learn more about the Centre for BME Health and hear about the work they do to reduce health inequalities in BME communities. We also got to sample some lovely Caribbean food and spoke to over 50 people from different backgrounds.

As well as meeting new people, we also got to meet and speak to other local organisations about the work they do which is great for both us and the people we work with as we will be able to add their details to our self help section of our Website.
