South Leicestershire College (Wigston Campus) Fresher’s fair
Our volunteers Esra and Steve attended the fresher’s fair alongside Voluntary Action Leicester. We were promoting our service and volunteering opportunities to the new students of the college. “It was great to meet the students at the Fresher’s week event starting their next step in there journey. we fully enjoyed supporting the students and College on there Journeys into the future. Suicide Prevention Conference
Kaseem and Shannon attended a suicide prevention conference hosted by ‘The Start A Conversation’ team and the campaigns key partners. This was held at King Power Stadium on World Suicide Prevention day 2019 in celebration of the campaign’s success over the past year since its launch. The conference had a broad theme of suicide awareness and prevention with key note speakers. It was an informative event which really focused on the important issues surrounding suicide and ways in which we can attempt to prevent it. Saturday 28 September
New Parks Leisure Centre. PPG Community Health Event
Farhnaz attended a Community Health Event. We were there to promote out service to people who attended the event to have a general health check, which involved having a blood pressure and diabetes check. This gave us a chance to explain our service and give them information on how to use our website to access information on other local services.
